Sometimes the old is new again. The halter on the left combining Swarovski crystal mesh with plain mesh was a new direction for me. Unfortunately crystal mesh is extremely expensive but ultimately the look was enough to carry the the tops created over the counter at retail. But it also generated scrap. Going into my vintage mesh scraps that I have accumulated over the past 50 years I decided to do a patchwork by grouping together colors, silk screened pieces, and pieces with other processes I found and developed over the years. They worked out beautifully. I soon realized I could take it a step further by combining the scrap Swarovski crystal mesh rows between the seams of different pieces of the mesh and creating a frame effect for each piece. The aftereffect put me on a design induced high that almost made me forget how labor intensive it was to create and then started a whole series of pieces I am most proud of today.
